Day 7 of my Autumn New England Street Journey (with a toddler) began the day by driving via Smuggler’s Notch—it’s a brief and tremendous windy drive via a mountain move that’s significantly lovely.
Useful Tip: Get began on the drive as simple as doable. Visitors is infamous throughout foliage season so we hit the street at 7am and had it to ourselves!
We then spent all the day exploring nature trails and hanging with animals at @trappfamilylodge, an Austrian-inspired mountain lodge with 300 acres of farmland in the midst of Stowe.
The Von Trapps, made well-known from the film The Sound of Music, fled Austria throughout WWII and in the end landed in Stowe, VT the place their hospitality lives on right now. Do you know the Sound of Music is likely one of the prime 10 highest-grossing movies of all time??

We did handle to catch a glimpse of the famed Stowe Neighborhood Church from afar, however any nearer meant preventing visitors and large crowds.
